Trek Itinerary

Today you arrive at Leh airport and we take you to hotel. This day very important for rest because air is thin. You must drink plenty water and stay relaxed so body get used to high altitude. In evening time, you can go for slow walk in Leh market. See many colorful shops, local handicrafts, and eat tasty Ladakhi food like momos or thukpa. This simple day makes you ready for big mountain adventure. Overnight stay in Leh hotel.

After good breakfast, we go for see famous monasteries of Ladakh. First we visit Shey Palace where old kings lived, then Thiksey Monastery which look like Potala Palace in Tibet. You see very big statue of Maitreya Buddha there. Finally, we see Hemis Monastery hidden in mountains. You can take many beautiful photos of snow peaks and green trees. In evening we come back to Leh hotel for rest and preparation for trek.

The adventure begins with a short drive to the historic Phyang Monastery, where you can soak in the spiritual atmosphere before hitting the trail. The trek starts with a gentle 7km walk following a sparkling mountain stream. The gradient is easy, allowing your body to adjust to the altitude as you pass through sparse willow groves and rocky paths. After about 3-4 hours of hiking, you reach the serene campsite of Murobok, a lush grazing ground used by local villagers.

On the second day, the landscape shifts from valley greenery to rugged alpine terrain. You will cover approximately 8km in 5-6 hours, maintaining a steady, moderate uphill climb. As you ascend toward the 4,900m base camp, the air becomes noticeably thinner and the views more expansive. This stretch is crucial for acclimatization, offering a peaceful walk through high-altitude meadows where you might spot Himalayan marmots or grazing yaks against a backdrop of towering granite peaks.

This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek, involving an 11km journey over 7-9 hours. You will tackle a steep ascent to reach the summit of Lasermo La at 5,400m, often crossing patches of snow and ancient glaciers. At the top, you are rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the Karakoram and Zanskar ranges. The descent to the North Base is equally steep and requires careful footing over moraines and icy sections before reaching the camp tucked in the high valley.

As you head toward Hunder Dok, the trail follows the winding Hunder Stream for about 14km. This 6-7 hour walk is mostly a gradual descent through wide, beautiful valleys filled with wildflowers and "Dok" (summer shepherd huts). The terrain becomes much softer underfoot as you move from the high-altitude desert back into the green pastures of the Nubra region. It is a relaxing day that showcases the unique transition from the high pass back to the high-altitude shepherd life.

The final leg of the trek is a 10km descent that takes roughly 4-5 hours. The path leads you through a dramatic, narrow rock gorge with vertical walls that eventually open up to the vast Nubra Valley. The gradient is mostly downhill, ending at the famous white sand dunes of Hunder. After days in the rugged mountains, the sight of the green oasis and the iconic double-humped Bactrian camels marks a spectacular finish to this trans-Himalayan journey.

Morning time we visit Diskit Monastery and see giant Buddha statue looking over valley. We spend more time on sand dunes for photos. Then we drive back to Leh via Khardung La pass, one of highest roads in world. The road has many turns and you see whole Ladakh range. We reach Leh by evening and stay in hotel for good hot shower and rest.

After breakfast, we drive you to Leh Airport for your flight. It is time to say goodbye. We hope you take many happy memories and photos of our beautiful mountains. We wait for you to come back again to Ladakh. Please share your experience on our Google or Trip Advisor page. Have safe journey home!
