Jhunglam Trek

Zanskar | Ladakh | India

The Jhunglam Trek is one of Ladakh’s most offbeat and remote high-altitude treks, connecting Hemis in the Indus Valley to Padum in Zanskar. Designed for experienced trekkers, this 15 day expedition crosses dramatic gorges, lush river valleys, and some of the region’s highest and least-trodden passes—including Kongmaru La (5,150 m), Zalung Karpo La (5,200 m), and Chhar Chhar La (4,950 m).

This route combines raw Himalayan landscapes, ancient monasteries, and isolated villagesoffering a deep immersion into Ladakh’s rugged beauty and spiritual legacy. River crossings, narrow canyons, and high passes test your endurance while revealing jaw-dropping vistas.

Expect to trek through regions untouched by tourism, visit monastic treasures like Thiksey, Hemis, Karsha, and end the journey in the culturally rich Zanskar Valley. With limited connectivity and full wilderness immersion, Jhunglam is truly for the adventurous soul seeking solitude and grandeur.

Key Highlights:

  • Traverse 3 major Himalayan passes above 4,900 m
  • Camp along the remote Langthang Chu and Zangla Sumdo
  • Visit iconic monasteries: Hemis, Shey, Thiksey, and Karsha
  • Spot wildlife like blue sheep and marmots in pristine valleys
  • Complete a trans-Himalayan traverse from Indus to Zanskar
  • Perfect for seasoned trekkers craving off-the-grid adventure
