Alchi Monastery
Alchi Monastery is a famous Buddhist site in Ladakh, located in the Leh district. It was built in the 10th century and is part of the Gelugpa sect. However, the monastery also shows the art and architecture of Kashmir from long ago. Alchi is known for its beautiful paintings, wooden carvings, and large statues that combine Indian and Tibetan styles.
