Trip Itinerary

Arrive at New Delhi airport by evening flight. Transfer to hotel for rest and gear preparation. Acclimatize to plains climate; review expedition briefing with team. Meet fellow climbers and guides over dinner. Essential day for jet lag recovery before high-altitude journey begins (easy, 0 km hike, elevation 216m).

Morning IMF mandatory briefing in Delhi for permits and safety protocols. Drive 250 km via scenic Yamuna Expressway to Dehradun (6-7 hrs). Check into hotel; light walk in Mussoorie hills optional. Evening gear check and team bonding (easy, no hike, elevation 640m).

Drive 100 km through forested Tehri Garhwal roads to Uttarkashi (4-5 hrs). Visit Vishwanath Temple for blessings. Acclimatize with short walks; attend puja ceremony. Hotel stay; focus on hydration and nutrition prep (easy, no hike, elevation 1158m).

100 km drive along Bhagirathi River gorges to sacred Gangotri Temple (5 hrs). Offer prayers at origin of Ganga; moderate altitude gain starts. Guest house stay; evening acclimatization walk. Stock up on essentials (easy, no hike, elevation 3104m).

Trek 14 km from Gangotri along Bhagirathi Valley via Chirbasa forest (6-7 hrs, 690m gain). Pass waterfalls and pine trails; moderate rocky path. Camp at Bhojwasa ashram near glacier views. Hot meals served (moderate, elevation 3794m).

Steep 7 km ascent through alpine meadows and moraine (5-6 hrs, 686m gain). Challenging switchbacks with wildflowers; wildlife spotting possible. Camp at Nandavan with Tapovan glimpses. Rest for altitude adjustment (challenging, elevation 4480m).

9 km rugged trail over boulders and glacier streams to sacred Vasuki Tal Lake (6 hrs, 359m gain). Difficult hopping sections; stunning trident views. Establish basecamp tents; acclimatize by lake. Technical prep begins (difficult, elevation 4839m).

Descend 4 km glacier safely (3 hrs). Moderate recovery trek; focus on pacing. Basecamp rest with massages; review ascent data (moderate, back to 4839m).

Full rest day; acclimatization peak. Light walks around Vasuki Tal; nutrition focus. Team briefings; gear maintenance (easy, 0 km, elevation 4839m).

Repeat 4 km glacier to Camp 1 (4 hrs). Difficult height gain training; endurance build. Overnight for adaptation (difficult, elevation 5400m).

3 km steep technical ridge on ice/snow (5 hrs, 540m gain). Very difficult exposure; fixed lines. Establish Summit Camp; weather watch (very difficult, elevation 5940m).

Full 7 km descent via Camp 1 (5 hrs). Moderate fatigue management; celebrate progress. Basecamp recovery meals (moderate, elevation 4839m).
