After breakfast, we start drive towards Jispa. The main highlight today is the famous Atal Tunnel, which is one of longest highway tunnels in world. After crossing tunnel, you see big change in landscape from green to rocky Lahaul Valley. We cross the Tandi bridge where Chandra and Bhaga rivers meet. Jispa is located at 3,200 meters elevation, which helps you adjust for higher Leh later. You stay in beautiful riverside camp or hotel. The drive is smooth but very scenic. You will see many waterfalls on the way. This 100 km drive is very comfortable and full of photo spots for your social media.

This is the longest and most beautiful day of your trip. We drive 250 km from Jispa to Leh. Today we cross many high passes like Baralacha-La (4,890m) and Taglang-La (5,328m), which is second highest motorable pass. You will see the famous Gata Loops with 21 sharp turns and the flat Morey Plains which look like a desert in the sky. The elevation goes very high today, so drink plenty of water. By evening, we reach Leh city at 3,500 meters. This drive is difficult but very rewarding with "moonland" views. Your Leh Ladakh tour packages from Manali finally brings you to the heart of Ladakh.

On way back, we visit Magnetic Hill where car move uphill without engine power—it is amazing magic of nature! We also visit holy Pathar Saheb Gurudwara and the Hall of Fame war museum. In evening, we go to Shanti Stupa for best sunset view of Leh town from top. The elevation stays around 3,500m, so your body feels better today. It is a relaxing day with total 80 km driving on very good roads. Perfect for enjoying local Ladakhi food.

Get ready to touch the sky! Today we drive to Nubra Valley by crossing Khardung-La Pass, the world-famous pass at 18,380 feet (5,602m). You can take photos with the yellow sign board. Then we go down into the "Valley of Flowers." We reach Hunder village where you see white sand dunes. The best part is the ride on Bactrian Double-Hump Camels, which you find only here. Nubra is lower at 3,000m, so you sleep very well in camps. This 130 km journey is full of snow peaks and deep valleys. It is a highlight of all Leh Ladakh tour packages.

Today we visit Turtuk, the northernmost village of India. This village was in Pakistan before 1971. The culture here is Balti, and it is very different from Leh. You see many apricot orchards and local stone houses. It is very close to the border, and you can see the Karakoram mountains. The drive is 85 km one way along the Shyok River. The elevation is low (2,800m), making it very warm and green. After spending time with friendly locals, we drive back to Hunder for the night. This day is like traveling back in time. Total 140 km driving on rocky roads.

We start early for the world-famous Pangong Lake. We don't go back to Leh, we take the direct route via Shyok River. The road is adventurous with some water crossings and big rocks. When you see the first glimpse of blue water, you will forget everything. Pangong Lake is 134 km long and shared with China. The water changes color from blue to green to turquoise. We stay in a camp near the lake at 4,250 meters elevation. It is very cold at night, but the stars are very bright. This 160 km drive is the most famous part of your Ladakh trip.

Watch the beautiful sunrise over the lake, then we start drive back to Leh. Today we cross Chang-La Pass, which is 5,360 meters high. It is often covered in snow. On the way, we visit Thiksey Monastery, which looks like the Potala Palace of Tibet. We also stop at Rancho School from the movie '3 Idiots'. The drive is 150 km and brings us back to Leh city for a comfortable hotel stay. You can do last-minute shopping at Leh Main Market for Tibetan crafts and woolens. This is your last night in the high mountains of Ladakh before going back.

We start very early, maybe 4:00 AM, because the road to Manali is very long. We drive back through the same high passes like Taglang-La and Baralacha-La. You see the mountains in a different light today. Most travelers prefer to go straight to Manali or stay one night in Sarchu/Jispa if tired. We cross the Atal Tunnel again and reach the green trees of Manali by late evening. It is a long day of 410 km driving, but the memories of the "Land of High Passes" stay in your heart. You feel very proud of completing this big mountain loop.

Your big adventure of Leh Ladakh tour packages from Manali ends today. After a late breakfast, you can relax in Manali.
