Your journey starts in Leh, where you can relax and explore local sights. Next, we’ll drive to Nubra Valley, crossing the high Khardung La Pass. Visit Diskit Monastery and see the sand dunes in Hunder. Then, enjoy the stunning blue waters of Pangong Lake, which change colors with the light.

This trip is a perfect mix of adventure and culture, giving you unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s beauty and peacefulness.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Leh Airport

Welcome to Ladakh land of Great Himalayas. Your adventure start with arrival at Leh Airport (3,500m). Mountain Intelligence Team meet you at airport and drive to hotel for check in. This first day very important for settle in and take full rest. Because Leh high altitude, you need rest for body adjust to thin air before we explore stunning landscapes and mountain roads. Evening you enjoy quiet time in hotel. Total drive today very short around 5-10km from airport to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 2 Leh Local Sightseeing (90km)

After breakfast, we go for Leh local sightseeing drive around 90km total. Today terrain is basic and smooth. We visit Hall of Fame museum for memory of brave Indian soldiers, then Pathar Sahib Gurudwara and famous Magnetic Hill where car move uphill itself. Most beautiful is Sangam Point where Indus and Zanskar river meet together. Elevation stay around 3,500m to 3,600m. Evening you back to hotel for hot dinner. Good day for photography and see natural culture of Leh valley. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 3 Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung-la Pass (125km)

Get ready for ultimate adventure drive to Nubra Valley. We cross Khardung-La Pass, world highest all-season motorable road at 5,359m elevation. View from top feel like top of world. After pass, we descend to white sand desert of Nubra. We visit Diskit Monastery with big Buddha statue. You can enjoy double-hump Bactrian Camel ride in Hunder sand dunes, very famous from old Silk Route times. Later enjoy camping under stars with bonfire. Total drive 125km through barren cold desert and high mountain pass. Overnight stay at campsite in Nubra Valley.

Day 4 Nubra Valley to Turtuk Village and Back (140km)

Early morning we drive to Turtuk Village, northernmost part of India. Drive is 140km round trip and take 7-8 hours. Elevation is lower at 3,001m. Terrain type is advance level with off-roading and some water crossings on road. Turtuk was part of Baltistan and very close to Pakistan border. Beautiful landscape with apricot trees and local culture. By evening we drive back to Hunder Village in Nubra Valley for rest. Very unique day to see last village of India. Overnight stay in Hunder Village.

Day 5 Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shayok (150km)

Morning have breakfast and start drive to famous Pangong Lake on Indo-China border. We drive along Shayok River with mountain both side. Pangong Tso is highest saline water lake at 4,225m elevation. Lake change colors blue to green to red in sunlight. You see 135km long lake and feel Bollywood style like 3-Idiots movie. Spend evening walking side of lake and enjoy fresh air. Drive is around 150km and roads are adventurous. Overnight stay and dinner at campsite near Pangong Lake.

Day 6 Pangong Lake to Leh via Changla Pass (150km)

Wake up for beautiful sunrise view at lake. After breakfast we drive back to Leh via Chang-la Pass (5,360m), one of highest pass in world. Stop at Changla Baba temple for blessings. En-route we visit Druk Padma School (Rancho School), Thiksey Monastery, and Shey Palace if time permit. Drive is 150km and take 6-7 hours. Elevation go very high at pass then back to 3,500m in Leh. Reach Leh evening and take rest after long journey. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 7 Explore Leh City & Shopping

Today is easy day for explore Leh nearby. We visit Shanti Stupa on hilltop for panoramic view of whole Leh town. Also visit Leh Palace, old royal house from 17th century. Afternoon and evening we go to Leh City Market. Best time to get souvenirs like local crafts, Pashmina, and gifts for friends and family. Very relaxing day to enjoy local food and market vibe. No long drive today, only local moving. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 8 Departure to Home

After the breakfast we will excursion towards the Leh Airport , So its time to departure.
