Founder of Mountain Intelligence

Rigzin Angdu start his journey in the high peaks in 2011. At first, he work as a support team member, learning how to manage camps and trails from the ground up. He love the trekking life immediately. By 2012, he become a professional guide, leading many groups to different parts of Ladakh. In that same year, he climb the summit of Stok Kangri. This moment change everything for him. He realize he belong in the mountaineering world. Since then, he work very hard as a professional mountaineering guide, moving from simple treks to technical high summits.

Over many years, he reach the top of many famous mountains. He summit Stok Kangri, Gulap Kangri, Dzo Jongo, and UT Kangri. He also reach the top of Chokula-2, Mentok Kangri 1 & 2, and Kargyam Massif. His experience is very big, including peaks like Kang Yatse 1 & 2, Mt. Nun and Mt. Satopanth. He also climb Kiagar Ri and Kabru Dome while he was doing his advanced training. Each mountain teach him more about safety and strength in the high altitude.

In 2016, he take a big step for his career and register his own company, Mountain Intelligence Treks LLP. He want to give best service and local knowledge to all travelers. Later, in 2023, Rigzin get a very special opportunity. He join the Siachen Glacier Trek, which is the longest glacier trek in the world. He work with Oxbow Media Company under the leadership of Lt. Col. Dhumal. This experience on the “Third Pole” show his high level of endurance and his ability to work in the most difficult conditions on earth.

Rigzin is one of the most trained guides in the region. He finish his Basic Mountaineering Course from JIM, Advanced Mountaineering Course from HMI, and Method of Instruction from NIMAS. He is also expert in medical safety, finishing Basic Life Support with Dr. Gurtoo and LMGA. For mountain rescue, he is a certified Trainee and Trainer by Bergrettung Austria and Ladakh Mountain Rescue. Today, he lead Mountain Intelligence with a brave heart and many years of real mountain experience.
